Sadly, Bob Young, a friend to car enthusiasts everywhere has passed away. Bob was a founding member of the Memphis Classic Chevy Club in 1976, and was nationally recognized for the level of quality that his cars displayed. Bob was both a Chevrolet and a Street Rod enthusiast, and was a previous winner of the prestigious 'America's Most Beautiful Roadster' award, and also the prized 'Riddler' award with two different street rods. Yet Bob could still be found sharing his enthusiasm for cars at the Bartlett Cruise-in or at the annual Memphis Rodders Reunion where it was apparent that he set the bar of excellence very high indeed.
Services for Bob will be this Sunday, February 19th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Services will follow immediately afterward, with the entombment to follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Humane Society of Memphis.
