It's been 23 years since I made this photo of Tony Christian taking his pro stock Chevrolet to the winner's circle at the first ever NHRA Mid-South Nationals. There have been a lot of changes at Memphis Motorsports Park since then, but this tidbit of information revealed in the Memphis Commercial Appeal might just warrant further attention for those with an interest in the Memphis racing scene.

Memphis Motorsports Park has been providing local race fans with a first class racing experience for the past 23 years. However, that disappeared on Friday, when in a completely unexpected move, Dover Motorsports Group announced it's immediate closure.
